- Custom thickness? For ABS sheets used in a packaging prototype, I needed a non-standard thickness. Only about half the suppliers I contacted could do it.
- Cutting or slitting services? For PVC rolls, I often need specific widths. Not all suppliers offer this.
A supplier with a broad material range and custom options might be more expensive per unit, but the total cost of ownership can be lower if it means fewer suppliers to manage. For me, managing 8 vendors for different needs is a headache. Consolidation saves me about 6 hours a month on paperwork.
